Johnstone’s Paints in the spotlight

The painting and decorating industry received a bit of a boost recently as the battle for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy was staged at Wembley arena. Almost 1000 painters and decorators were invited to watch the match courtesy of Johnstone’s, and were part of the 72,315 strong crowd who were treated to an exciting final between Bristol City and Walsall.

Johnstone’s have been sponsoring the tournament for the last nine seasons which, this year, saw the second highest attendance in the history of the sponsorship, with only the 2010 final attracting a larger crowd. Of course, the match was also seen by millions who tuned into the Sky coverage to watch Bristol City finally triumph over Walsall to lift the coveted trophy.

The whole event made sure that the Johnstone’s brand was firmly in the spotlight, plus the decorating industry as a whole received a welcome boost from the exposure. Of course, the painters and decorators who were lucky enough to receive an invite were treated to a day to remember, including a slap up meal in the Bobby Moore Suite, which was bedecked in golden balloons to celebrate Johnstone’s 125th anniversary as a paint manufacturer. Plus 14 of Johnstone’s Trade employees and two winners of a charity auction were given the chance to take part in the Johnston’s Sixes on the Wembley pitch an hour before the final got underway.

Rennie Decorating Services applaud the recognition Johnstone’s Paints have given to their customers for the part they have played in their success. And we would like to assure our customers that as some of the most conscientious and professional painters and decorators Wimbledon SW19 has available, we always use top quality paint products, such as Johnstone’s for all our painting and decorating services. It’s one of the reasons why we’re amongst the most recommended painters and decorators Richmond TW9 and the surrounding areas have on offer.

Dulux Trade recently carried out an extensive survey of homeowners to ascertain what qualities the perfect professional should have.

Trust – this was the top priority.
Dulux found that homeowners want their decorating work to be carried out by people they trust and like. Eighty three percent of those surveyed stated that finding a professional decorator they could trust was the most important criteria when hiring someone for a job. Over a third of these would be influenced by the personality of the decorator when making their final decision.

Quality of Work

Next important was workmanship and the quality of work. Sixty seven percent were looking for a high standard of work. Good quality paintwork with a smooth finish, sharp edges and good coverage was required by those surveyed.

Customer Service

This was valued by sixty four percent of homeowners. Within this group the qualities looked for were tidiness, attention to detail and keeping to quotes given. It was clear from the survey that price is not the main criteria when employing a decorator. Customers are more concerned about the quality of the work and whether they are comfortable with the person they are employing. They also want to know that they are going to get their job completed to the standard they require.
